C02 injection? pros and cons?
while i was flipping through my mustangs unlimited catalog i came across this http://www.mustangsunlimited.com/ite...atKey=EMUSTANG
and i thought to myself, i said self, thats pretty damn cool. i know one of my buddies had talked about it before but i always just thought it was BS
is this really worth the time and money? is it better than nitrous in anyway? im guessing less detonation probabilitys?
what are the pros and cons of C02 injection? i might just have to try this if you guys think it will be worth the time and money...
could this be used along side nitrous?

C02 injection is used on turbo engines with an intercooler, it is sprayed onto the intercooler not into the engine, if co2 was injected into an engine it wouldn't run as it takes away oxygen. Now, interesting idea if you could use c02 in a cool can to cool fuel and have a hollow carb spacer which c02 passes thru to cool it may do something. I think the name c02 injection is misleading as it should be called c02 intercooler cooler. N20 can be used as an intercooler on turbo and blown cars as well.

nitrous plus a blower.... hell how long is such an engine supposed to run :-)
A friend of mine has carb base sprayed NOS for sale (i could get it for a great bargain I guess as I'm assembling his engine with my friends), but I'd be too afraid to put it in just in case I break something again

Of course all power adder stuff will shorten the life of an engine and driveline components if it is used...
As a personal matter, I just don't really like NOS. I think it has a place in drag racing, but for one reason or another I just don't like the idea of NOS in ANY street driven car. IMO there is too much room for component failure and it is too damn easy to make a COSTLY mistake. It only takes a few seconds of a very lean condition to udderly destroy an engine.
Besides that I have heard way too much ricer talk about "KNAWAWS"....

Nitrous, blower or n/a if you have high cylinder pressure and lean out, kaboom. Nitrous gets a bad rap because of the idiots who don't use it properly.
It's great for blowers though, the blower creates a bunch of extra heat, and nitrous is a cryogenic gas with a vaporization point of around -125 F, so when it's introduced into the airstream it absorbs a ton of heat energy. A nitrous shot on a blown engine makes extra power, partly from the nitrous shot itself, and partly from the reduced intake temps. It basically works like a liquid air charge temp reducer as well as a power adder.
