Question What all needs to be done?

What needs to be done to a 67 mustang, to convert the original 289, to a roller motor? And would it be worth it?

thats what i was wondering. but also what is he starting with? if he wants to put either in.. they will both bolt right in. but if its a 6cyl car it will take more to make it reliable/safe

do you want to keep the EFI or go carbed?
are you talking just physically bolting it in? wiring it all?
is it a V8 car right now?

well, if you have the whole parts car, with all the wiring harness, computer etc etc you should be able to do it. i beleive JamesW did it. but you will still end up spending money as oppsed to just makin it carbed. plus, i dont like the look of the 5.0 efi in a classic, or any car for that matter. too ugly IMO

+1. I was going to recommend the same. James is a wealth of knowledge on this subject.

It's not that hard, just time consuming. Both blocks same size. Few minor differences, such as dipstick relocation, oil pan, sump, fuel pump, wiring, 69-70 gas pedal, etc. but all managable.

It's best to buy one from a 89-93 Mustang. Get everything you can....all the wiring, computer, etc. These motors last forever and tons of things you can do with them.

All the best.
