Question Steering stop modifications

I have a 1965 coupe with drop and 17 inch rims( 8 inch wide) . I hope I have the stops in the right location so if anyone has a picture it would be appreciated. If I have them correct then there is alot of room until my tires hit the frame. If that is the case I think I would like to modify to give me more turning radius. Currently it sucks. Has anyone done this and what would be the limitations. I have power steering as well and dont know if the increased travel would be a problem. The thin section of the stop in facing toward the front of the car and the higher section with the "U" is facing rearward with the U top pointing toward the outside.

Appreciate the help.

I had a friend who had taken out the stops on his 89 toyota truck. It was hilarious. He could turn around in 2 parking spaces. I didn't notice any negative affects on it but then again I wasn't the one driving the car.

I have Granada spindles and disc brakes on mine. I had to modify the steering stops to be able to turn at all. The turning radius is still lacking a little.

You can look here to see how to modify the steering stops.
