Default Where to mount MSD ignition module?

I'm going to get one of these MSD 6A ignition modules, but before I do, where should I mount the thing? I don't want it to be very visible since I like the stock appearance of my car.

Originally I was thinking under the dash, but there is not much room. Then I thought behind one of the shock towers.

Any other mounting location ideas? And will adhesive work or should I use screws?

Just make sure it has good contact with metal. I've been told modules like that and the one I have make some heat and they need a surface to dissipate it.

it doesn't really matter, but I would spend a good amount of time just picking out the best spot. Go for something that is at least half hidden, I hate looking at an engine compartment and seeing that giant red box right smack in the open like on most cars. I think the best part would be on the driver side near the radiator support, possibly under neath the radiator support lip, that way when you're looking at the engine bay you don't see it.

Just pick a nice spot that is semi hidden but not too far away so that the wires aren't too long and strained. Also, make sure the wires look pretty too, messy wires really jack up an engine bay

just a few suggestions, good luck!

What if I painted it black? mwahahaha

But I'm looking at my export brace and it's probably much smaller than yours, Tomrob. It's about 2.5 inches wide, that's enough for the skinny side of the MSD box.

Also there is unfortunately no room near the radiator or anything, except maybe in the enclosed area behind the radiator and in front of the bumper. But that would be pretty visible and hard to drill.

I created a paper replica 8" x 3.5" x 2.25" so I could get a more accurate idea. Looks like the only reasonable spot would be behind the passenger shock tower on the wall.

I've never seen it behind the passenger shock tower before, interesting spot but it should be hidden semi well.

and I guess you could paint it black but if its not done well then you have a box in the open with a bad paint job

so there isn't enough room kind of near where the windshield washer bag would go? on the radiator support side? What about on the radiator support all the way near the frame?

Have you looked at trying to hide it under the dash?

4reboy: I will check below the wiper bag, otherwise the rest of the area around the radiator seems as there is no room for it.

Tony R: I was looking for the spot right above the gas pedal, I could mount it vertically there. Otherwise, I didn't look too much. Maybe I could get it right behind the console.

Andrewmp6: Is that behind the glove box? Eek! lol

Now I'm reconsidering the behind-the-passenger-side-shock-tower, because it would be right near the exhaust.
