Pop the top off of it and have a look at the gears and syncro dogs. post good photos I'll let you know what I think then.

I do not know if they make an adapter plate that would allow you to run the 94 trans

What year is your car?

Have to change out the input shaft or deal with it being about an inch longer and cut a notch back in the shifter hole.

Would it still mount to the engine block okay? I was under the impression that it would have about an 1" gap between the bell housing and the block due to the longer input shaft

It will work fine as long as you have the bell housing that belongs to it. The input shaft is 1" longer yes, but the bell housing is also longer. They offset each other so it works fine. I just installed that exact t5 into an 85 fox body and it worked perfect. No issue at all. We did use the clutch fork from the fox though.
yes the shaft is tapered but it works. You dont even have to trim the shaft IT WORKS PERFECT. the shift handel will also sit back 1" and will feel better.

Yeah, like he said. Use the 94 trans you have to use the 94 bellhousing. If you want to use a 79-93 bellhousing so you don't have to cut the shifter hole you will have to change out the input shaft.

Is this going in a fox or a classic?

you cannot change out the input shaft from a cobra t5 to standard t5 shaft. the bearings are different and it will not work.

He wouldn't be able to use a replacement input shaft for a 93 cobra or is it set up differently than the 94-95 cobras?

the cobra shaft is unique!(its tapered) you cannot get a standard t5 shaft to work in a Cobra T5

Yeah that's what I'm asking. Because the 93 was a cobra but still a fox not a SN-95 is a fox cobra t5 the same as a sn-95 cobra t5 other than the length?
