Default My 66 2+2 fastback

I was going to post some updates of my car but it seems that my thread has been deleted. So I guess I’ll start over.
Bought my 66 fastback when I was 15, it was my first car believe it or not. Nightmist blue 66 fastback 2+2. The original 289 was long gone when I got it. It had a 1970 302 2bbl in it when I got it and it didn’t last that long afterwards because the oil pump failed.

Then

Now
This is the most current picture I have of the engine bay.

87 GT 5.0 roller block with complete rebuild
Trick Flow stage one cam
New dual timing chain and gear
Cran's 1:6 Roller Rockers
Edelbrock Air-Gap intake
Edelbrock 500cc 4 barrel carb
Tri-Y headers
Rebuild 93 GT-40 heads
8mm wires
Flowmaster exhaust 40 series
Aluminum Cobra air cleaner
3" tall Cobra valve covers
3 core radiator
Moroso front sump oil pan

Replaced the edelbrock with a Holley 650 double pumper

added Raydot mirrors recently too

This weekend I finished up the Shelby drop, installed high performance coil springs and the Shelby quick steer kit. Dropped about 1.5", really happy with the stance

Enjoy, let me know what you think

That looks fantastic. Thats a sweet color. I love the dark blues. Mine is caspian blue. There of pictures of it in my gallery. The engine bay looks great! Why are your fender badges reversed on the passenger side?

Yeah I really the color, dont think I'll be changing that. Thats a really good catch about the badges....I never noticed that before, very strange!

I agree, everyone loves pictures. I'll see what I can do to get some more up tomorrow. I put over 80 miles on it today. I think doing the shelby drop and quick steer mod is one of the best things I've done to this car. Handles very well, its like a different car. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Before and after pictures of the Shelby Drop. With the new springs and the drop itself, the car handles so much better and looks awesome. Before I left to go back to college, the front seems to have settled at a good 2" drop.

Before

After

Sorry, dirty car.

Need your input. I'm want to put a 9" rear in the car and while I do that I want to redo the rear suspension. I'm leaning towards installing a Heidts 4 link. I already have the 3rd member with a 3.5 ratio, so besides that I think I might get everything from them. Thoughts on this setup?

ive heard that it works alright, but make sure you get the adjustable shocks or it will be way to soft. a good setup leaf spring suspension will work really well if you can get it right..
