true, I believe that too, it's your car, do what you want. I just believe that modifications should be functional or improvements to the vehicle in one way or another, and I don't see building a car just for looks to be a big improvement. if it looks good and is improved at the same time then I say go for it. there are a lot of things in the automotive world I don't understand, mainly the people that take economy cars, add 300lbs of plastic, a 75lb wing on the back of a FWD car, 9000 stickers, 12 different colors of paint, lower it about a foot, put 24" wheels on it and have a yellow interior all while seeming to think they'll be able to go faster somehow after they do all this... of course I've been paying most of my attention to the truck scene for the last few years, so I am a tad bit biased...
