482supersnake, did you ever finish this project? I really would like to see it finished up. I am interested in trying this on my 68 coupe. I uncertain how much larger these Astro van flares are to the stock. Do you know of any more cars out there with larger steel ones we could maybe chop the flares off of and fit it to our years?

I haven't worked on the fender flares yet, sorry. I have an extended break from work over Christmas so hopefully I can get some work done on the car. I have seen some others who have used the fender flair from a 71-73 mustang and it looks pretty good. http://www.lateral-g.net/forums/showthread.php4?t=44342
Another option would be too use the fender flare from a Volkswagen rabbit. Good luck.

Thanks for the tips. The rabbit looks like more like the 1971 mustang flare. The astro flare looks like it has a flare going all the way down to the bottom of the wheel lip. I like the look of the astro flare since the flare follows down the bottom. How did you manage to set it up on your quarter panel? Was it difficult to get the right angle and fit?
