Default Interior Restoration

I just wanted to double check the process...For all exposed metal under the dash, glove box and doors, along with the plastic kick panels, would you:

1. strip the paint
2. sand with 000 steel wool (would you sand the plastic kick panels?)
3. Clean
4. prime
5. paint (interior paint - spray can)

Anything plastic you can just wash it then use a wax and grease remover and paint it with sem brand dye it works good.

I used Krylon Fusion made just for plastic on my kick panels. Just do light coats until you get the coverage you want.

would I even need to strip the paint off the plastic then? or just do a clean prime and paint on top?

depending on color you might want to use a touch up gun and/or and Air Brush. Rattle cans leave you almost no control.

If it was me, I wouldn't try to strip the paint from the plastic. I would just primer over it and go from there.

If the paint is flaking then remove it if not primer it.
