His v-6 is faster than your 289.

more then likely it's not. He probably has the same amount of power, but it being in a SUV, hurts it alot. Remember now, that a stock 289 2 barrel has 200 HP, and like 140 HP at the wheels. Now, all you have to do is tell him take it out of a road course and try and beat you. I'd be rolled over so fast it make your head spin.

If his V-6 is a SHOC his engine is putting about 230 horse from the crank. What model is his explorer?

when i put the 4bbl carb in how much of a hp boost will this give me? the carb will be a holley

Is your mustang a 2 barrel or 4 barrel?

im not sure which engine he put in it. he put a new engine in from a 2002 explorer thats all i know i think its a
SHOC.

Well, the stangs that came with a 4 barrel, they had an extra 25 HP, but i believe they had nicer heads on them, but if they didn't you should expect something in that area.

I just can't see a explorer beating a stang, but it could happen.

is there anything else that you can do to the exterior of the engine to add hp. by this I mean things that arent like camshafts and pistons.
