Default Supercharger for a stock 302

I was wondering about any info on putting a suoercharger on a stock 302 for 69 coupe w/ c4 tranny and 2 barrel carb (planning on swaping for 4, any suggestions on that too would be nice). Would it be worth it with an automatic. First car and looking to get a little more power so that I dont have any problems with the rednecks in 92 camaros around me and all the ricers ahaha. Looked into paxton, but looking for opinons from other owners.

those 305's are boat ancors....we had a camaro in my auto shop class in high school and we took the motor out and put it on a run stand and used the body for learning brakes and body work until the school forked out some money for another motor...I think they had something like 195 horse.

Why not build a 437 stroker out of the 302 you got?

I think andrew meant 347 stroker and I have to agree with him. I wouldn't just throw a supercharger on your stock 302.

A blower is a good way to grenade a stock motor. There are ways to build a 302 so that it won't self-destruct, but adding boost to an aged and worn motor that wasn't designed to take it in the first place can result in a very large paperweight.

Instead, consider new rear end gears. Gears are probably the most cost-effective way to improve acceleration.

+1.......A motor has to be built to withstand the pressures of boost..

Well that would be cool...you could watch the pistons from the holes in the block....
