Default Radiator Info for 64 1/2

I’m a new owner of a 64 ½ mustang coupe that is in great condition and I plan on keeping her that way. That being said, I don’t know much about older Mustangs and am still learning the ropes. Q: This morning after church I went to garage to start my 64. (I keep it garaged during the winter months because Wa is a bitch in the winter for an oler car.) After 15 mins of getting her warm, I turned off the engine and noticed a large amount of radiator fluid coming from the raider overflow tube. Is this normal? Should I just add more fluid or is it fine? Why did it leek so much?

nope, no reason your car should ever leak fluids. Replace that sucker

Check your pressure cap. I know we had a car that had a bad cap on the radiator, and it was doing that.

Then again, if the radiator is old, it won't hurt to replace the radiator.

Confused.....you said you you were a new owner and then said you keep it garaged in the winter???? Anyhow, did the previous owner say that it has been doing this? Regardless, I recommend a pressure cap also...easy, cheap and can produce similar symptoms.

Default Thanks for the input guys

I'll go to AutoZone this weekend and see what I can get my hands on. Thanks for all the info. As for garaging her... Hell ya. Snow and rain are no fun for drum breaks and the original steering. I did have three good months of sun her though.

You might want to pick up a universal overflow bottle too, whatever leaks into the bottle when hot will go back into the radiator when it cools.
