How F'd am I (pics)
As mentioned in a previous thread both of my front frame rails have some rot issues which I noticed towards the end of the season. Well I had some pics taken and I am very concerned. The passenger side looks like it may be patchable but the driver one looks scary.

Can these be patched/repaired with major work being done (not looking for a show car...just want to keep my driver running)?
Any idea what this will cost me?
How long will I be without a car?
Know any good shops near either nyc or near the Poconos (18301)? CJ Pony and Mustang Barn aren't far but looking for any recommendations.

I know of a shop in Syracuse that does great work, yea I know it is a ways from you, but it might be worth the trip....

A bit far but I do have a place to crash in Binghamton if it was only going to be a two day job. That said, I don't need a great resto...just quality cost efficient work.

Hmm -m torque box looks okay but I don't think you can get to that part w/o taking torque box out or doinsome serious patching. I might be wrong opefully someone else will chime in. I'm guessing your are looking at 40 hrs labor - cut floor to get to box, take out box and put new frame piece. The parts are pretty cheap - about $100 dollars - labor is what is goig to get you. If you take to restoration shop I'm guessig $1500 to 2000 give or take and out for a week or two. It not to complicated to do - see if you can find a local that does that does patch work on classics - may be able to get a lot cheaper

CJ looked at the pics and guessitmated about 35hrs plus parts. They have a sale that reduced that labor from $75 and hr o $63 and change. Hoping it might not be as bad as it could be once they start working:

How are the rails at the front of the car, under the battery box and the same place on the driver's side? Believe me you don't want to be driving went that lets go. I have been there and it's an instant J-hook. That was a long time ago for me, but still etched in my memory.
What you are looking at isn't a quick fix and as long as you are in there you may as well make sure it's structurally sound.
Maybe CJ's estimator will change his quote when he see's it in person.
