Soaring...all the fan shrouds seem to be for other engines sizes and not my inline 6 200ci. Will the 289 shroud work? Any ideas would be appreciated...Your relatives may not have to stay with you much longer as the weather is certainly clearing up in Alief and Eagle Lake area...However, traffic might be a little thick at times on the road...best of luck to them.

so... I have the universal shroud from Summit. Im not sure how to attach it. the holes on the shroud don't line up with anything. They rest against the radiator. Do the little zippy tie straps slide through the radiator or something? Thanks.

I have to ask - from looking at the dates on this thread - did it take you 2 years to get a shroud?? If so, you work about like I do!!

HA - my bad - I should have looked to see if you were the original poster. Sorry, I do not have experience with this shroud.

Guess I let that original post just die out...the solution to the overheating was not to get a shroud but to flush my coolant, replace water pump and thermostat, add a 1/2" fan extension, and replace hoses. Getting the fan closer to the radiator with the extension appeared to help. I was never able to find a shroud for the I6 but really didn't needed after proper repairs. Hasn't overheated in over a year now in the hot Texas sun and freeway driving.

At speed there shouldnt be a problem cooling, but if you're stuck in traffic, you really need your fan closer to the radiator and a good fitting shroud to help focus the air through the radiator, I think you do alright because you're running an I6, but a mildly built V8 will need a shroud to stay cool while at idle, or at least mine does, can't sit in a drive through for very long without it starting to run warm, but then again I am running a flex fan, and the shroud is a little larger than my fan so it's not as efficient as it should be. Also you can cosider going with an electric fan if you so desire.

The radiator is new but Im not sure what to do with this universal shroud. the holes on the shroud dont line up with anything. They sort of land against the actual radiator. Do the ties run through the radiator or something?
