Default Opinions needed on aluminum connecting rods

O.k., I just picked up a 302 shortblock with dome pistons, childs & albert aluminum connecting rods, custom grind Lunati solid lifter cam, forged crank, main stud girdle, etc. The motor has 500 miles on it since the build as the previous owner decided he wanted more power and upgraded to a 408 stroker. This 302 made 400 hp on the dyno however my engine builder is saying to ditch the aluminum rods. I have no expierence with them, don't plan to race or blow nitrous and have found many conflicting thoughts on them online. All I want is a good street engine that will be reliable and something to have fun with. The motor is balanced right now and I know swapping out the connecting rods will require rebalancing because of the weight differance. I will be putting on a set of Edelbrock Victor Jr. cylinder heads. Convince me whether I need to change out the connecting rods or run it as it is.
