'65 Coupe Father and Son Project

I think its great that you are building an old classic with your son. I am building acouple with my dad. We cant wait till we are able to open the garage door and take our first ride together knowing we did all the work. Look forward to seeing updates.

Like everyone has said, it will be a long road but determination and encouragement will take you to the end. Leaving time to reflect on the purpose of why you're doing it will help. When it stops being fun and starts being "work," take a break. And don't listen to those who say it can't be done - sooner or later they'll be eating crow. Good luck!

Had a great weekend working on the Coupe!! My daughter and her friend helped pressure wash it, they loved that! Sunday I continued disassembling, I got the rear end out and the gas tank and spent the whole afternoon underneath the car pressure washing!

Question for you veterans! When I pulled the carpet out and the sound mats, there was quite a bit of surface rust underneath. I'll post some pics of it later. It appears to be superficial but do you think I need to replace the floor pans?

Soda Blaster vs Media Blaster
I want to strip all the paint and surface coating from the frame and underneath! What do you guys use? I have a 6.5hp/60gal compressor and I'm pretty sure it will power either method but what's better, whats less messy and what's cheaper? Thx, Jim

This is priceless! Never under estimate your daughter. She just may outlast your son!
