if I buy link bar lifters do i need a new cam
I am going to go ahead and order my new heads since I found out what all the isues I am having with my current heads.
I am wondering if I switch to the link roller lifters, will i need to install a new roller cam as well?
If so is switching to a roller set up a big enough gain to justify the expense?

I do not know for certain but I am pretty sure that running a solid lifter cam with link bar roller lifters is asking for trouble.
Hopefully another member here can better answer your question. Comp cam techs are quite helpful as well.
what happened to your head and what caused it?

Are you switching from spider-retained roller lifters to link-bar lifters? If so, no cam change is required. However, if you've got a flat-tappet cam, you have to convert to a roller cam if you want roller lifters.

Depends on the cam you choose. Roller cams have a faster lift profile, allowing for more flow without increasing valve overlap, which also provides for a wider power band. This means you can increase top end power without sacrificing a lot of low-rpm torque, retaining driveability with an aggressive cam.
