Default Tick,Tick,Tick, Tick,Tick,Tick,Tick

Coming from my drivers side valve cover. Not extremely loud, but noticeable. Is this a rocker arm, lifter or something that needs some adjusting?

factory C code heads on a 65. The heads were completely rebuilt last year. I noticed the sound a while back but was able to pinpoint the location today.

Thanks for any input.

If it sounds like it is coming out of the exhaust then it is most likely an exhaust leak, but you said valve cover.

Well, You basically nailed the nail the the head. Most likely it's a rocker arm, or a lifter. Just like you said. Hopefully it's just a rocker arm.

How do you adjust a rocker arm correctly? If it is a lifter, how difficult is it to replace/fix/adjust? I guess I need to find out what is the problem is first.

Well, my book tells you all kind of stuff to do. I basically do it by listening to it, and feeling them. To change a lifter, you have to remove the Intake manifold. that is of course, the hardest part.

Are lifters adjustable? I know they were just replaced last summer.

No, They work by oil pressure. If they get any dirt in them, or damaged, they wont move like they should. So it'd have to be replaced.
