351 Cleveland timing marks on HB line up with my #5?????
When I went to check the timing on my 1973 Grande 351 2V, I could not see the marks on my harmonic balancer as it passed the pointer, so I connected the timing light to the #5 cylinder and it lined up perfectly. I just replaced the timing chain and camshaft. I know that I installed the parts correctly. The engine cranks and runs perfectly. Is it possible I have the wrong HB on this motor?? any ideas why it is like this???

well you are correct that I have been a GM guy with my hot rods. (Ford Trucks Rule) I got a 67 GTO. But this Mustang is for my son and I did check the firing order and ford starts at front passengers side and goes back to the firewall then crosses over making the #5 the front drivers side plug. I figure this has to be the wrong Harmonic balancer, but If I hook up to the #5 I can time it perfectly.
