Pretty good choice, I just got rid of my performer 289 and 1403. It worked well, but IMO ran a little lean.

I agree strongly with Al.

I have a 670 street avenger on my 331 and it still runs really rich. I have had it jetted and adjusted and seem to think a 600 would still be a better fit because I drive primarily on the street.
When I am in situations where I am really driving hard the holley seems to at its best.
