Question Transmission for a 302 Cleveland

Hi all, i have been searching for threads on a transmission for a 302 Cleveland, i was wondering if a C4 from a 289 would be ok, or if i purchase a 4 speed auto-trans for it.
It is going into my 66 coupe after the 302 is rebuilt, so any info would be most appreciated.
Sorry if i am in the wrong forum, i am fairly new at this stuff, and not too sute on where i can find the best information.

Sorry if i'm incorrect, but the 302 is a Windsor engine. The Cleveland is a 302. if it is a 302 Windsor a c4 3spd or a AOD from a newer car with a 302 will work.

302 C is an Aussie motor...while chances that is what you are actually referring to are slim....I will point it out. It (a 302c) uses the same bell housing bolt patten as a 289/351w/351c and the much more common 302 (that few refer to as a 302w)

.
if you run an aod trans you need very expensive jba headers because most if not all the other headers will hit an aod trans because the trans is a different shape . . always double check any info you receive on the internet.
