Default Please help identify type of wire

it's one wire attached to the firewall and the other end to the intake manifold. each end has a metal ring where a bolt or screw would attach it.

gotta be some kind of ground?

the wire is old/cracked and has a partially melted case. looks like a fire hazard to me. need to know so i can order or replace it.

thanks!

It should be a small mesh looking cable instead of wire.

It is just called a firewall ground. Texas Mustang has them for $5.95

BTW, the picture of your vert shows up as a red x. Check with cardomain to see what happened.

Hi early!
I did not see it in NPD catalog. I found it in Virginia Mustang's Catalog. I use them a lot. Phone number is 1-540-896-2695. Web address is WWW.VaMustang.com It is called a "Engine to Firewall Ground Strap". Theirs is a Exact repo w/ all the markings. Part number is WG-8 for '65-'67. Gonna get one too. Mine sucks.

Thank you Walt, will check Virginia out as well. Walt, what projects are you up to now? You always seem to have some interesting things going on.

Hi early,
I finished up with my 4 barrel upgrade. Came out nice. Right now I am on hold fer a while. My next project will be either exhaust trumpets or Fog lamps.
I do have a question of you don't mind. I have put in my request to Santa fer a rally pac. Would you know if the one for a A code would be the 8k or 6k version? I know the K code would be the 8k not sure about the A. Another question. Is the anti-sway bar on a GT 13/16 or 15/16? Also I checked out Cardomain. Seems their server is down but I don't have the same problems as Soaring.

Thanks, Walt

The cardomain thing puzzles me.

Be careful when buying trumpets, there is alot of repo's out there that are junk. NPD has a better although more expensive version you might check out. I think you want the 6k but I would make a post since I am not 100%. You also will probably need the "low profile" version if you have the GT five dial instrument cluster. From what I know, the 65 GT sway bar was 13/16. That is what I have on my car. Good luck, keep me in the loop!
