thinking about going 17" wheels
Hello
Im currently running 14" wheels and im tired of the one tire choice I can pick from.
running a 17" wheel seems very appealing at this point.
I am thinking about American Racing vn309 torq thrust
http://www.americanracing.com/wheel/...hrust-original
a 17x8 with a 4.50 backspace (run these on all 4 sides)
I would run Pilot Super Sports 17/235/45
My mustang now has TCP Power rack and pinion.
With that in mind what mistakes am I making here? what should I be aware of?
Thanks

I'd just say to see if you can find a wheel with that offset to borrow for mock up. Make sure it doesn't rub. Also test it while backing up with wheels at lock (like backing out of a parking spot) as sometimes reverse will rub if its close. and you'll feel the bumps more with the shorter sidewalls.

The only mistake is really just my opinion, but it seems almost every mustang ends up with that style/shape of wheel...kind of a cliche'. Wheel choice is the most personal of decisions though and it must make you happy. I'm sure my wheel choice is not for everyone either...cheers.

Tomorrow I'll ask a fellow that might know that answer...
BTW - do you use a baseball bat to roll the fender lip ? The fellow that is welding frame stiffening metal/material into my '66 used to do that trick on the classic Mustangs and said it worked great.

Ive heard of this...but I got some peeps that could take of that for me and I think they would be more competent than I so they will be in charge of fender roll
Thanks for looking into my question!
