Default 2 holes pass side 302 block? Plug?

I have a 302 block from a foxbody I am about to drop into the 67 but I noticed two open threaded holes on the pass side of the block. One is at the front-most end of the pass side and the other one is right below the rear frost plug. I am wondering what they are for and what I should do with them. I assume something for oil perhaps external cooler? I can send a pic they look to be in the 3/8 to 7/16 range. Thanks guys

Does the hole actually go into the block? Or is it just an attachment point?

If you are talking block, not head, the back one is probably for a ground strap from the firewall. The front is either the ground from the battery or the alternator support .
