Default i have a wiring issue i need prompt help w/

I have a 66 v8 which i did a regulator delete on and also a headlight relay conversion.

everything has been great for several years. today i washed it and detailed a little under the hood.

i didnt do anything else. now nothing works. there is no power to my accessories and the car wont start. I do have power to the solenoid and the hot side of the one wire alternator. but thats it. the lights wont even turn on and either will the interior lights or anything electrical on the car. what in the hell did i bump, or loosen when cleaning?

thanks ahead of time. i need it to get to work tomorrow.

do you have a spare solenoid to throw at it?

its gotta be something basic like that.... a bad ground wire, battery connection (we checked), solenoid,

Check that the ground wire is tight and clean...then solenoid

Did you bump the big wire harness connector up at the firewall next to the master cylinder? I do that all the time on my 65

dongestang, i have narrowed it to that plug.I have power to the plug on the on the engine side of the firewall on the black yellow wire. which, feeds the power to the fuse block and the ignition switch. but it stops there. it does get power into the fuse block from that same wire. which tells me the main connector is bad or is not making connection. i disconnected it, cleaned it and still nothing.i think the connector is bad. i ran a jump wire and everything gets power. so, i will need to replace the inside of the harness. oh well....ughhhh

Yeah, it sounds like the problem is in your bulkhead connector.

If you were washing out the engine bay and got water in the connection then a good drying should get you back in business.

i ended up ordering the Painless kit. I was going to go with the American Autowire product, but after speaking with a tech over there it will not work with factory a/c.

my wiring is in bad shape. I agree that it is most likely the bulkhead connector because i have power to it but not beyond it. No matter what i do!

anyway, i picked up the painless kit and also a set of gauges from dakota digital.

I will let you all know how it goes. maybe even take a few pics.
