Default New member with a very rare 69 mustang

Hi everyone. I just joined. This site looks like it has a lot of info for all years of Mustangs.
I own a very rare 69' Mustang. It is a Mustang E' Don't be surprised if you have never heard of them. It is a sportsroof model with a 250 six cyl. It was built to compete in the Mobilgas Economy Run. Basically a fuel economy contest from coast to coast. Google both the limited edition Mustang E' and the Mobilgas Economy Run. All manufacturers competed in this yearly competition. Well know drivers such as Mickey Thompson were drivers. All manufacturers had to build (homologate) so many cars to make them eligible for the competition. Ford built 96 of these Mustang E' to qualify. I have been looking a long time for photos of others. All I can find is the two that Ford produced for advertisement. The Mustang E' that comes up on youtube is not an E'. It has all of the wrong qualifications for an E'. Just a sportsroof with a six cylinder. Mine has been verified thru Marti Autoworks. The first and only E' that he has run reports for. I would like to see others photos if they have any. Thanks

I haven't heard of it before, congrats on having a rare car!! If you haven't joined the Mustang Clubs of America do so. They may have more info in their archives. Post pics when you can, I'd like to see it.

thanks, I didn't even know about E's either. I found the buck tag on the radiator support. It has a 63D body code that is another thing that is different than others. All other 69's have either 63A 63B or 63C.

I read an article long ago about the E's. How long have you had it?

What did the 'E' model have that set it apart from the workaday 6cyl Mustangs?

Without having my papers in front of me the jets in the carb, the torque converter is larger than any other available to the rest of the field, and the rear gear is a 2:33. A few other minor things. Also, there is a Mustanag E' decal located at the rear of the quarter panels on both sides.

If you haven't already Google the E'. It's interesting.

I've talked to many Mustang people and companies. Almost no one has heard of them. Gary Patterson at Shelby USA knew about them. Said he has never seen one though. One MCA judge seen on in the 80's.

.
Cool novelty car but unfortunately not worth any more than a regular one but still cool to have.
