i know this is going to sound stupid, but what exactly is a roller perch, where is it located, and is it a lot better than a spring perch? i was checking them out from opentrackerracingproducts.com thanks

BUY IT ! It's thesaddle that holds you coil spring and shock. It lets the shock work the way it is supposed to. The rubber ones are so stiff, they put the shock in a bind. Ever lift the car, and le tthe suspension hang ? Notice how the coil bends outward ? It's because the perch won't turn, and it forces the bottom of the coil out, which is also what causes the shock bind. Do that with a roller perch, and the coil will be stright up and down.

I actually broke a shock last year, and I'm partially blaming my stiff spring perches for that. Came up fast over a rise (top of suspension), came down hard (bottom of suspension), CLANK. Almost brand new Edelbrock. I have roller perches now

Thinking about it a little, swapping to roller perches means you could (and possibly should) choose slightly stiffer springs than you would if you were going to stay with the original design. There is a slight reduction in front roll stiffness due to the "lost" stiffness from bushing resistance, and this could either "tighten" or "loosen" the handling a little.

My suspension is slightly smoother than I expected with the new 540lb springs, but I still wouldn't want 620's.

What do you guys think about those new "double-saddle" rollers?

I've started a set...(but hadn't finished welding them up)

Check out Day's site on how to build them yourself.
