Default Cleaning and Protecting Convertible Top

My brother just bought a convertible and while we were detailing it this afternoon I could not remember what is the best for cleaning and preserving the top. Very general question I know but just trying to help him keep it as close to new for as long as possible.

Thanks for your help and advice.

I second that.

Raggtop (Wolfsteins) Convertible Top Care products are actually recommended by Haartz, which is one of the largest suppliers of convertible top material for various automotive manufacturers.

Whether you have a FABRIC or VINYL top, Raggtop has you covered. They also manufacture products for clear vinyl convertible top windows and products to clean and condition leather interior surfaces.

I used the raggtopp, and to be honest wasn't too impressed.

I just had my 07 top replaced, and will be ordering some 303 and see how that works!

What about the Raggtopp products failed to impress you?

It just didn't seem to work as well as I thought it would. All the reviews I read sounded like it was gods gift to the convertible, and I didn't feel that way. I tried it 102392 times, 29345923 ways, under 392359 conditions and it never really gave me a good clean.

I'll give the 303 a try and see how I like it though. How long has 303 been around, because for the longest time I didn't even think other companies made something like raggtopp did.

I just had my top replaced, and when I picked it up I realized how sun faded the old one was, as this was BLACK. I want to keep it that way

You should be able to tell if you feel it.

But to my limited knowledge, you couldn't get a cloth fabric top till 2007

I am not a "car girl" so other than driving and washing I do not know alot about my car!. My vinyl top has some stitching along the outside edges that is GONE, just a little spot but I guess the thread is deteriorating. I do not want to replace the top until 100% needed - I am nervous about someone messing it up - Can I seal up the stitching somehow to delay the rot? Anyone got any ideas?
