My first 2 detailing jobs
Hey everyone, so for the longest time I have been wanting to start a detailing business. I love cleaning cars and making them look better then they did when they came off the show room floor.
About 2 weeks ago or so I got my first job from a lady who is in a challenger club with my parents. She has a 2013 Dodge Challenger SRT in plumb crazy. The car was virtually new when they got it and it has sat in the garage more then it has been driven. So it wasn't a difficult job. It was just a simple wash, wax, and vacuum and wipe down of the interior. Here are some pics
Before
After
All in all I think it turned out great, it took about 4 hours to do which wasn't to bad at all.
Some time went by and then a couple of days ago another person from the club wanted me to do his Challenger this time an R/T but he had another car he wanted me to do first which was a 1992 Mustang GT.
This car was a bit more of a challenge, the previous owner was a kit who didn't take car of it and pretty much trashed it. The front bumper, right rear quarter panel, trunk, and rear bumper had pretty much no clear left. He told me he didn't want it perfect but he wanted it as good as it could get. Him and everyone else at his shop didn't think I could get the paint to come back to life and although that may have been true front a couple of the body panels. The ones that still had clear coat on them came back way better then I even thought they would. The hood was swirls central along with the rest of the car. I would say that I got about 95% of the swirls out. All that was left was a few deep scratches that I couldn't do anything with. Here are some pics
Before
After
Now the crazy thing is, the owner of the shop was impressed and said he had 8 cars that needed detailing and he showed me a couple buildings that had a combined total of about $8 million dollars worth of cars in them. Everything from Porches to Ferarri's and Lambo's. He told me not to expect to keep my day job because I may have a lot of cars to clean in my near future. So this detail was big in several ways. Not only did I get to really test my skills. But my business my have just exploded.

Very nice job and congrats on the business possibilities! I've often thought it would be cool to start a high end detailing business, but I don't think I'd last doing it for long! Hope things turn out well for you!

I'm a big fan of laughing at Dodge drivers who got suckered into driving a purple car because it's a "classic color", hahah.
