driver door wont close

RE: driver door wont close
There are several reasons why a mustang door won't close.
It could be the hinges have slipped and are out of adjustment
It could be an incorrect model year door is installed.
It could be the latch has engaged while open.
It could be the striker needs to be adjusted.
It could be the inside panel is out of square.
It could be the door latch has broken.
If you can lift up the door while closing and it works,
you need the star socket to readjust the striker.
You might need to use a screwdriver to push the
latch gate open while activating the door handle if
it was tripped.

RE: driver door wont close
the alignment is fine, it just hits the latch (i guess) and bounces back. im not sure if im suppose to do this but, if i spin the thing that looks likea hook on the latch, inside the door, (it dosnt look right) it will close.

If you mean the finger on the door latch, it is possible
that it just tripped when the door was open and you
had to reset it.
You may have to adjust the striper post on the
door jamb using a star socket. You just use a wrench
to loosen the post a little and the post can mofe up, down,
in, or out. ONLY A LITTLE to see if the door latches
better. This adjustment will make to opener handle
work better or worse.
