Am I going to regret 4.10's? (04 GT M5)
I recently ordered FRPP 4.10's and up until a day ago, I never second guessed them until I heard that they might be a bit much, and that I should've gone with 3.73's.
First of all, the car in question is a stock '04 GT M5 with 315/35/17's in the rear. I have no plans for any sort of power adder, and the extent of possible mods would pretty much end with basic bolt ons (ie. CAI, pullies, etc).
So, that being said.. from the research I did initially, I had assumed 4.10's would be perfect. Giving me the off-the-line pep that Mustangs seem to lack from the factory (I'm a GM convert. I've had no less than 8 L98/LT1/LS1 cars prior to the Mustang). I'm not overly concerned with gas mileage, as I'm driving a muscle car and there's plenty of gas stations around. I don't do a ton of highway driving, but I do some. I'm not a drag racer (anymore), but I do enjoy the spirited run through on occasion.
I assumed that 4.10's with 315's in the rear would pretty much reduce any unintentional off-the-line wheelspin, and my train of thought is I'd rather have too much than too little, which is what I think 3.73's might be.
Are my assumptions correct? I have an appointment to have them installed after Christmas, so I'd like to try and be confident before then.

you'll regret it if you like to go slow.......maybe you'll be scared and wanna slow it down and do a 3.73 instead. if thats the case put about 10 sacks of ready mix in the trunk, that will add 1000 more lbs and slow you even more.
otherwise...you'll be happy and couldn't have made a better choice
