I just got a car and the engine is very dirty of course. Should I just pressure wash it with straight up water, or what is a good product that i could use.

Greased lightning and water work well, just remember to cover your coil packs or distributor with a plastic bag or something. I just saw where someone bought one of those little $50 steam cleaner machines, and steam cleaned the engine. I have always used a pressure sprayer and a good cleaner that doesnt leave residue, then CD-2 the engine but I think I will have to buy the steam cleaner to keep it clean.

i use a rag, wd-40 and chrome polish. it takes longer but looks great when its done.

I know this sounds crazy but it works sick!Clean it first with simple green then spray it down with foaming tire shine the engine bay will look like new, trust me i do it all the time

It'll collect dust fast as hell with tire shine.

Go to the parts store and buy Mothers - Back to Black.

Man you beat me to it - I swear by tire foam on the engine!! But it must be clean first. To do a major cleaning use an engine degreaser (Simple Green, Gunk out, etc) Spray it on to a cold engine, let it sit for a beer or two and then pressure wash it off. But take the distributor/coil precautions as mentioned above. Once dry, spray a liberal coating of tire foam and you'll love the result!!

For in between cleanings - use an aircompressor to blow off the dust and re-apply the tire foam. True it collects dust - but I love the look - and dust is easy to blow off.

i know it'll look like a stupid question,but i'm new with mustangs,so anyway: where is the coil packs and distributor ,and is it alright if that cleaning stuff gets on the battery??

Never had a problem with dust at all,It makes it look sick!That mothers back to black wipes off black goo everytime you wipe it
