The dual beam is the same as high beam or brights for your headlights. I dont know what temp they burn at, but they use about half the power and are brighter.

some states, ie NY, require high and low beams to pass safety inspection. The dual beam HIDs allow you to keep your high beams for cars that use one bulb for highs/lows, like our Mustangs.

as for the temperature, if you're referring to 6000K, 8000K, etc. that is the color of the HID bulb. 4300K being stock color or white. as the number increases more blue is added to the color output, until you reach about 12000K or so where the light starts turning purpleish. In the opposite direction, like 3000K, the light will be yellow.

Also note the higher temp you go the LESS light the HID will produce, 4300K-5000K is the brightest color available.

If you have the money get the dual beam kit. I have both HID headlights and fog lights and still find myself using my brights most nights.

stangmods.com have a few sets they have 4300 6000 8000 10000, so i would want the 4300 or 6000?

2k1gt- do u have smoked headlights? or are they just not bright enough?

I have smoked headlights. It's not that they aren't bright enough, I just like being able to use my high beams because it gives me more upward visibility on these dark country roads.

As for the temp, I have 8000k which I like a lot, but I usually suggest 6000k to most everyone else.
