If you want a V8 for V6 price, buy a used V8 with 15000 or more miles on it.

dude, If I could do it all over again I would have gotten a Roush 427R. Unfortunantly they weren't offering them up here where I am at during the time.

You're going to have a lot of people dissing you if you get a v6 mustang. I'm not trying to be mean to the v6 owners, they know it too. To get a v6 to produce as much power as the v8, you're going to be spending quite a bit of money. And you don't want that feeling in the back of your head, "I coulda' had a v8" I get the feeling, "I coulda' had a termi" going though my head every once and a while lol
As for the insurance, if you need to worry about that, reconsider buying a new one maybe get a used one.

Big ****ing deal. Do you want me to find a vid of a 4 banger going equally as fast after the owner spent ga-gillions of dollars modding it?

What's your point?

Swapping a V8 into a sixer is more $$ than building the sixer to make the same power... just FYI.

Personally I enjoy my V6. I've never driven a GT but my V6 has plenty of power for me and honestly I would say 90% of people out there can't tell the (obvious) difference between a GT/V6... the first question I get about my car is "V8? V6?" And I still get plenty of compliments on it. IF you can afford a GT then get it, of course! But not for $28K!!! If your going to be doing a lot of modding and can afford a GT to start off with then get it. However if you dont plan on doing much modding and want to save a lot of money get the V6. The V8 REALLY isn't that much faster. It's got like a second on the v6 in the 1/4 (or something close to that) which IS a lot of time, but I dont know if it's $8,000 worth of time...

Yeah except its not the same power.... there is more to it then peak hp you know.

We can go round and round in circles all you want, we all know a lawn mower can be fast with enough money it. But the simple and undeniable truth is that v8's rule racing... period. There is no replacement for displacement, yes you can be a tool and "yeah there is... boost" But that is for street racer BS. Anybody who knows there *** from a whole in the ground knows the deal with REALLY racing boosted cars, esp. cars with high amounts of boost. This is not worth my time to argue about, all you have to do is go to any track around the country and see what makes cars go fast... BTW 11's and 12's arn't fast. Some of what is said here taken in context is right, but remember this, outside of the mustang forums... modular v8's are paper weights, so just be real.

Also, Id rather spend the same money on a v6/v8 swap and make the same HP with more torque and alot better powerband... and also have 20X the reliability anyday. Just my .02, don't like it?... tell somebody who cares
