Cobra is good but so is escort. It's all a matter of how much you want to spend.

Whatever you do dont buy the Cobra 9210 they are a peice of junk. I bought two of them at the same time, one for my car and one for my chicks and the only thing that they didnt pick up was cops..

You cant compare any Cobra to an Escort, Cobras are junk, and not even the same league as the top players!! There are really only 3 radars you want to compare, that are in the same catagory...

1) Escort passports
2) Bel
3) Valentine 1

and from those 3, its all preference, because performance of the newer styles is so close, its what you prefer. Anything less is a ticket waiting to happen.

Get a Valentine 1.How much are you willing to spend on tickets and higher insurance rates?Trying to save money on a radar detector is false economy.

I've read a few articles on the valentine because it's way of detecting where exactly the radar waves are coming from SEEMED cool. Then I wonedered to myself: Why do I give 2 flying ****s WHERE it's coming from??" All I need to know is that it's somewhere and that I have to slow down. Also another thing about this 360 degree of protection...guess what fellas if it's anywhere behind you you're already ****ed. Personally I'd settle for one that just tells me there is a radar signal from somewhere and that I need to slow down.

"Slowing down"doesn't cover all the infractions that will get you pulled over. What if you just want to avoid the eyes of the Police. The threat counter saved me big one night where I always would pick up a burglar alarm. The threat counter said there were two radar sources instead of one. When I got to the bottom of the hill there they were, parked in a driveway with the speed gun pointed right at me.Had the V1 not alerted me to multiple threats they would have had me.
