Boat wont start...
I know its not a mustang question but I need some info ASAP.
The boat is a 1986 OMC Cetorium, I found out that it has a 3.8 Liter chevy engine. It is still runing on old points system.
The boat wont start I tried everything I know the basic needs of a engine is Spark, Fuel and air. I got fuel and air but no spark. I changes the Distribitor cap, rotor, points and condensor and still wont start. I still get no spark.
What do i need for it to provide spark? I checked the coil and i dont get spark coming from that either so I bought a new one and still no spark could it be some wiring? Please Help I need help asap.

RE: Boat wont start...
Go out and get yourself a 350 marine motor...they're more reliable, more pulling/cruising power and easier to work on...
We used to have one in our boat, and my dad and I wrenched on that thing until we could hit 75+mph in open water... super engines.

the points gad needs to be .016..a paper clip is about 16..turn the engine over while someone looks for spark at the points..the cap needs to be off to see this...I hope you used the 32 oz points I bet there is no spark at the points because the gap is to wide or there is no gap..
