HOW MUCH FASTER IS A COBRA OVER GT

RE: HOW MUCH FASTER IS A COBRA OVER GT
Your still comparing apples to oranges here.
Stock '03 Cobra: 390hp
Stock '05 GT: ~300hp
If I were you, I'd look at the Mach 1's if your looking for something other than a Cobra for performance. Even though on paper the 05 compares equally with the Mach, it just plain looks ugly as hell.

RE: HOW MUCH FASTER IS A COBRA OVER GT
Right, '03 and '04 Cobras are a totally different animal than any other GT or earlier Cobra. WAY faster. Lots of hi-pro parts on those two year's Cobras from top to bottom, front to rear. I believe an average split 0-60 on an '05 GT is at best with a pro driver at 5.1, although one of the major car magazines claims they just nicked below the 5 second mark. I don't really know the running circumstances on that test or if I would trust it. I would think an average driver with an '05 GT could run consistent 5.5's. The '03 & '04 Cobras would hit, I believe, 4.5 or better 0-60....STOCK! That is a hugh difference in the world of drag racing.
One other thing, idriveamustang is correct. The only 225 HP rated '94-'98 GT was the '98. Different computer and exhaust tuning for the extra 10+ HP. The '94 & '95's may have even listed at closer to only 200 HP. Kind of confusing with the change over from the 5.0 to the 4.6. Actually, a low mileage '98 Cobra would be a hell of a bang for the buck Mustang right about now. Lots of potential with the 32V DOHC to pump out much more than its rated 305 HP.
