Default 2000 ford mustang wont start!

The theft light is blinking. I may have tried to use the back up key (first time using). I am not completely sure on that last part. Anyways it keeps flashing the theft light. When I have the hood up, I hear the click for a few seconds but it doesn't actually try to turn over. I have tried a few reset tricks, such as holding the porper key in the on position for 10-12 minutes, turning off for 10 seconds, then on for 5 again, and supposidly that would reset it. Unfortunantly that did not work. I have read some on this, but would like a new updated opinion. Was running great, was in the garage parked when all this went down. Stock, with no updated anti theft system.

Same problem occurs to my car. Whenever it happens, I disconnect the battery so the anti theft alarm restarts itself. But im annoyed of having to disconnect the battery. I want to find out how I can get rid of the anti theft alarm

^^^ Probally will have to take it to the dealer to have them fix the anti theft issue that you're having...

Mine does the same thing! It just randomly blinks off. It did it twice yesterday!! put the key in & POW, it's dead. No lights no door bell, locks nothin. Actually at work I don't take the key out & it still did it. I tried to disarm it as the owners manual says. Of course that didn't work either! Any ideas, Anyone?? If it keeps up, it's outta here!!!!!!!!

^^Man take it to your local ford dealer. Let them diagnose the problem and find someone that can fix it for you at a cheaper price.

They do not do it for free, but can be cheaper than throwing parts at it.
