I disagree with your statement on Fram filters. I've been using them for over 20 years, and have had absolutly no problem with them. Hey, if they're good enough for NASCAR and NHRA, they're good enough for me!

Damn. I JUST came home from changing my oil w/ a STP S2 filter and Valvoline 10w30. I guess I will have to start w/ the K&N filters next. If you dont mind, where did you get this info? I am not being an ass but I just want to verify that you know what you are talking about.

So long as you do your oil changes at regular intervals, ie: dyno oil @ 3000 miles, and Synthetics @ 5000 miles, the expensive filters are nothing but a waste of money! Oh, and I'd never put a purolator filter on my worst enemy's car! But that's just my 30 + years of mechanics experience talking.

Yeah a 4.6 SOHC and DOHC both take 6 qt's with the filter change. My dads Cobra takes 6.3-4ish as well and i never understood it. BEcause i do 6qt's on mine everytime and its perfect. and i have done other cobras and gts and used 6 qt's exactly. Maybe some require slightly more than others.
