Default Drifting with a GT???

I noticed there's only talk about dragracing and nothing about drifting.
Has any here ever REALLY drifted with a gt?

is it possible to drift with a automatic tranny?..
and how..? just use the e-brake?..

I was just watching a program on one of my HD channels (HDnet) about a drifting competition. I saw a couple of new (S197) mustangs in that competition. I believe they were both super or turbo charged. It's definately possible.

I don't know much about drifting but I've seen them used as learner cars in drifting schools. They are fine stock for plenty of drifting fun. They have more torque stock than tons of modded imports anyway.

Just use the gas pedal. I would recommend doing it in the rain its a lot easier on the tires.

EHEM!! I would not reccomend doing it in the rain.[sm=badidea.gif] Very very dangerous ( thats how I wrecked my trans am!!, I was trying to get off the off ramp and into traffic quick, the car spun around so freakin fast I didn't have time to correct, I was facing oncoming traffic and luckilly the 18 wheeler slowed down enough to not slam me too hard) anyway I think drifting on dry road is so fun and easy with these cars!! I'm pretty sure he meant in like a big empty parking lot, not on public roads...

Drifting is the second gayest thing on the planet.

I would agree that if you have to ask how to do it...you shouldn't be doing it. Drifting is definately not gay either. It's hard for some people to think of it as a true sport as it's not really racing and there are judges involved. However, drifters are very experienced drivers and have to maintain driving on the absolute edge....which is very difficult.

Practicing on a wet parking lot is the easiest (at slow speeds preferably) to get better at it. I would have to say that without a power adder though, the 18" bfg's just hook up too good to really be an effective stock drifter.
