Default bbk tb install and having problems

i tried installing my new bbk tb but had some problems. at idle the rpms go from 1000 to 500 like every couple of seconds. i heard that it could be the tps. i was also wondering if everytimeidisconnectmy car battery, if i need to reflash my car with my sct tuner?

why did you get the TB to begin with.....second, there is a procedure i think with setting the TB up, you might have to contact BBK about it....i would return the TB and use the money on something actually worth while

I'm sorry brother, I was just quoting that movie Office Space. If you've seen it you'll know what I meant.

Actually, I'm no expert by any means cause I'm just getting into all this stuff myself but I would guess that you don't have a current tune to reset your MAF sensorfor the TB coupled with the CAI. Iwould guess that you're computer is having a hard time trying to regulate the air/fuel mixture which is causing your variance in idle speeds. Just a shot in the dark there, not sure how my aim is.

i think you might be right cause my friend moved my existing tps around a little and i started it and started fine, it was idling at normal rpm for about five minutes and then it all went to hell and finally died on me. im gonna try to go to the ford dealership today to see if they have any tps's. but thanks for your advices guys.

DO NOT GO TO THE DEALERSHIP!!!!
They will laugh their asses off at you.
Return the TB, or sell it and get as much back out of it as you can.
Your problems will NOT get any better.
Ive ran a billet BBK for 7 months, ended up screwing up my tps, and had to buy a new tb assembly for 369.89 to get new ones, they do not come separate.
(the new (07) tb assy has metal inserts on the tps, and is a lot better built than the 05 imo, now that I have one.)
Then, I went to a BBK cast (power plus) TB, and calibrated it using BBK's methods (calibrated to 2.173v at idle, matching stock to the thousandths), keeping in contact with them via phone. I also noted that the BBK displayed 42.2v WOT, and stock displayed 44.7 WOT, via Snap-On Multimeter
I never got my problems to go away, and ended up selling it, the factory is good to 750hp anyways.
the only place I would put the BBK on is at the strip, and then replace the factory one (thats what I did).
but my factory one will be staying on from now on.
There is NO TUNE for a TB. Doug himself even told me they are garbage. (quoted)
I have the email if anyone would like it.
PM me for the calibration instructions, I have them saved in MS Word.

Did you tighten up the spring? Only a 1/4 turn right? Also is it brand new or used? If its used clean it out. I would say you need a tune.

THERE IS NO TUNE FOR A TB, turn the spring 180* counter clockwise to align the set pins in the corresponding slots, big on bottom, small on top.

Doug's reply to my email about the TB below

There's not a calibration to correct that, it's the throttle body.
Those
things are garbage pure and simple, I've dynotested them on three
different
vehicles and it didn't make a bit of power.

Thanks,
