For those of you that have installed LTs yourself or I guess if you had it done it wouldnt matter. My question is did you guys car smoke after install?

no, no smoke. not sure what that would be, maybe some oil on the headers? but if it keeps smoking, somethings wrong.

any new exhaust piece can smoke for awhile after install.....they do have a special coating of an oily substance that will burn off after a short time....after a week or so it should go away

after install i had an exhaust leak which i fixed with a couple of clamps.. I still smell an odor but I have less than 100 miles on the new exhaust so i assume it will go away in time.

What do you mean by smoke? you mean smoke out of the axelbacks or smoke in the engine bay ? Mine smoked like15 secs in the engine bay cause the headers where getting into normal temperature. After that, nothing.

Are you talking about visible smoke or just a smell? What LTs are they? I have the Kook's LT headers andd x-pipe w/high flow cats and when they were installed I could smell them breaking in but no visable smoke. It only lasted about a week. If you have visable smaoke you might want to try to see where the smoke is coming from to make sure nothing is touching the headers. Another possibility is it is just the finish on the headers and that should stop very soon. -Joe

It was coming out the axlebacks Ive seen it before my wife was just freaking out so I posted this to give her peace of mind. Thank guys

Its more than likely a protective coating on the headers. Although I didn't have headers installed, but when I put on my x-pipe, it smoked some pungent smoke that went away in a day or two of driving.

yeah, mine had some white smoke for the first 3 days. since then it has been fine.
