UDP Install Unsuccessful

RE: UDP Install Unsuccessful
What do you mean resting on the block?
I may give it a try again this weekend. If I use WD40 and still can't get it off, will it do any damage to the seal?

i dunno if wd40 will damage the seal, never thought of that. what i meant by resting it on blocks is that i jacked the car way up, and slowly let the pulley come down onto some wood blocks. it was on my friend's auto car, but it helped. if u try to jar the wrench, instead of slowly applying pressure, the pulley will walk on the blocks.

ya, u really dont have to on manuals, but being on blocks stabilized the pulley better. it's not necessary, just try turning the bolt the way i said. when we did his, it was on blocks, and damn stuck. we tried to jar the wrench and the pulley would walk on the blocks. then i had the bright idea of getting on the side of the car, standing the wrench straight up and pulling, slowly adding pressure, until it finally broke loose. i cant remember for sure, but i think we used wd40 as well.

just installed mine i payed a guy 50$ for istallation he did it in less than 2 hours and he did not have any troubles except the alternator bolt was too long so he switched it with a shorter bolt but the long bolt scratched the water pump pully

go join a weight lifting club and take another crack at it in 3 months. J/K I havent tried to do mine yet but I guess this is why im putting it off. Oh well im pretty sure the air tools at a ford dealership should be able to break it loose.
