She already agreed so what are you waiting for?

Seriously after my tune/CAI I (1) lost mpg because I was getting on it more often, and (2) started paying for premium fuel instead of 87 (but you can stay on 87 if you want). But she doesn't need to do this.

I have to negotiate spending 6k on a supercharger, that's a lot tougher to justify let me tell you... [:@]

First of all, I love all of these, "My wife is gonna let me..." threads. LOL cracks me up. lol

Anyway, Im gonna chime in and give me useless 2cts and im gonna say, (i have my flame suit on), that tunes and CAI's dont improve gas mileage. If anything, it makes it worse. Just like the guys said above, just lie. LOL

Well, if its a case in gas mileage, I guess your not gonna get gears anytime soon! lol

Dont take offense, Im just funnin with ya. Let us know if you get that intake and tune!!

Ummm..hello?

am I the only person on these forums to gain MPG after my CAI and tuner?

Before - 15.5 MPG avg. mostly city driving
After - 19.5 MPG avg. mostly city driving

If I drive around town in 5th gear about 45-55 MPH I will avg. about 20.5 MPG. This is verified from my message center and the old fashion way using the calculator!

Straight HWY in 5th gear 65-70 MPH = ~28 AVG. MPG

Easy, since you can read codes with it, tell here it will help diagnose problems with the car so you know what's wrong even if you have to dealer it.

Is the CAI pretty much the same thing as the K&N FIPKwhich unrestricts the air flow? Why does K&N call it a fuel injection performance kit (FIPK) and not call it an air intake?

Newb question. Make fun of me if you wish but please asnwer.

ummm...if its your money that you worked for just buy your CAI. Why the hell would you have to ask ur wife if you can buy something for your own car. Thats just stupid.

I suspect its some marketing ploy.. still looks the same to me.. then to really confuse people the change their terminology from one sentence to the other.. and then depending on the kit you get they call it something totally different.. just because one has a heat shield and one doesn't.. or it doesn't come with a new intake tube, or one is plastic one is chrome..

Nope! mine went up as well. Steeda 90mm intake and elbow, Bama torque tune on 91 octane is good for 17.8 in town with average speed of 24MPH, highway is 27.8 average speed of 72 mph (gotta love idaho speed limits!)
