Default 500 RWHP CLUTCH HELP!

My Kenne Bell 2.6goes on in a week. After the install, exaust system, coils and custom tune I am expecting to be around 470 rwhp. The clutch in it now is stock and a little abused. I want to do a clutch and flywheel. What clutch and flywheel combo are you guys running with this kind of power? This is a daily driver that will see a little drag time nothing crazy. Florida traffic can be insane so I need a traffic jam friendly pedal.Let me hear what you guys think! Thanks in advance!

Hey I am from FL too, what part are you in?

As far as your ? I am in a similar boat. For a while I was between the Spec Stage 2 w/ Aluminum Spec Flywheel, or the Mcloed Twin Disc kit with Alum FW.

The Spec is good for 520ft lbs of tq, and many people have it. Stick with the NON + model as those have more issues. From what I have heard the clutches are pretty good, but are very picky about break in. They are also prone to chatter. They can be had for about $700 with the flywheel.

The Mcloed is a twin disc and is good for about 1000hp or something crazy. It is overkill but I have never read a negative review ever on the net. And everyone that has it loves it. It is kind of like MGW. Alot of people like other brands but often you can find 50% positive reviews and 50% negative. MGW is 100% positive, why take the chance on not liking it. The Mcloed is about $1200 for the kit with the FW.

If you cant tell I am just going to get the Mcloed and be happy. The $500 I will save wont mean much if I end up unhappy with the clutch. You will use it thousands of times a year driving around. Buy the best.

Good Luck and let us know what you choose and what you think of it.

I am getting mine in Jan.

Good Luck.

I have the Mcleod RST and its awesome!,. it is rated to hold 800 hp and I can honestly say the pedal pressure is as LIGHT AS STOCK!. I HIGHLY recommend it. I believe Murray's or National Perf down in Florida carries them!. You will not be dissapointed. Wife can drive the car all day with no complaints.

spec 3+ here with stock FW here. very grabby at first but once broke in (400 miles or so) and it was really easy to use.

if ur doing the clutch and FW, I'd suggest doing the slave/tob from Ram at the same time. (new product -Lethal has them) its been concluded that the stocker is usually the issue with problems and the after market clutches

ORIGINAL: MustangGT0405

The Spec is good for 520ft lbs of tq, and many people have it.
The spec stage 2 is 599 tq. 520 was the old rating when they used a 10.5 inch disc.
