lol are you serious

its cause the new edges have crap susupension, the seats feel like they are going to break when you get on it . my old 87 cobra 5.0 felt like it had more tq then my stock 07 cause of what......crap susupension, its because your car handles the tq 100x better.

agreed with ^^^^ its called technology get used of it lol

did I mention the new edges have crap suspension....

good luck on your choice though do w/e makes ya happy but dont be fooled by ****ty suspension and poor build qaulity making you think your car has alot of tq when really its doesnt......

A custom tune makes all the difference.

I took my car to the dealer for warranty work. They loaned me a F-150 which pretty much has the Mustang GT engine in it.

They put the stock tune back in my car and when I drove away in it, it felt no different than that dang F-150 did. Re-loaded my custom tune and I'm all smiles.

LOL at 04 having more torque but not feeling faster. Dude, your 08 has more torque, more hp, more everything. It owns your old 04. Just be happy.

I dont think you started a war bro but you got to understand how ****ty your new edge build qaulity is compared to your s197.

The but dyno is a piece of crap IMO and more in peoples heads then anything

either way you got both cars so who cares you win

Here is another analogy. A golf cart that does 0-60 in 6.0 sec and 1/4 mile in 14.5 will "feel faster" than a S197...but it's not.

When I punch it on hot slicks at the track and my headrest slams into the back of my head, it "feels" faster than anything I've ever been in... because it is

Agree with the others that the stock tune's throttle lag and the DBW setup causes the 05+ Stangs' low rpm response to feel sluggish. Ford designed things that way so that the S197 GT's higher max torque rating does not result in a s..t load of drivetrain warranty work that will drain Ford's coffers. This is accomplished with a torque management algorithm in the stock tune and the DBW technology, which both cause the TB plate's opening rate to lag behind the gas pedal's movement when the latter is mashed to the floor. That in turn minimizes drivetrain shock loads, and helps prevent drivetrain parts from breaking. But push the gas pedal slowly to the floor, and everything is properly synchronized. And that's why God created the aftermarket tune.

Note: 04 and earlier Stangs have cable operated throttles, which causes the TB plate to always be synchronized with the gas pedal movement, regardless of how fast or how slow the latter is depressed.

The Brenspeed tune is known to be rather blah below 3K. I didn't like it at all below 3K. Trying to take off on an incline felt like I had a Prius engine in there.

The Bamachip tunes though are not like that at all. The torque tune and especially the race tune has very nice torque 3K and below. I think you'd much prefer those tunes.

Or ideally, a dyno tune.
