steeda belt drive pully...
So any of you guys here of this steeda belt drive pully? Saying that the belt breaks with the whipple superchargers and this system is supposed to prevent that... any you guys with whipples have problems with your belts breaking? also says this system gives like 13psi of boost i know the whipple is supposed to be for stock engines but isnt 13psi of boost kinda pushing it...
I like the idea they got one system giving you 11-13PSI and its for about 1200$. If its safe on your engine sounds like a great system. They also got kits going from like 15-17 and 17-19psi. they got them in chrome and black.

Belt slippage and breakage is pretty common with whipple systems at 10+ psi. The steeda system is nice, but pricey. There are cheaper ways to fix belt slip, like a Thumprrr tensioner.
And yes, you better have a forged engine before running 13+ PSI.

you wouldnt need that steeda kit until you have a built block and pushing 13+ psi. i have a thumprrr tensioner and BGG performance 8 rib kit. some people use this setup for 20 psi without problems. the steeda kit is good too.

The Steeda belt drive for the Gen 1 Whipple is rated at 11 psi. The generation 2 Whipple is more efficient and rated at 13 psi. Its a 10 rib dedicated system that has 2 belts. One for the S/C pulley to the crank pulley and the other belt for the accessories.....(similar to the way the termi's are setup.)
Here is a good read for you.....used the search function above!

it is pricey but I know for a fact that you wont have to get a new tensioner or 8 rib system with new pulley's.
The thumper tensioner is $400 (I believe) and the 8 rib setup from GI Joe is $600 so if you went that route your looking at 1000 bucks anyway....not saying all of the above cant be done for cheaper but I plan on getting this belt drive when I up the boost and get forged. If your shredding belts with the Whipple it is most likely the tensioner that is bent (even if you can't tell) as it only takes a small bend to get the belt off track and shredded in no time.
you get many billet aluminum parts and a nice new billet aluminum crank pulley to partially cover the rusted stock one
