I finally pulled the trigger on a set of Pype's Violator axle backs. Now this is what a GT Mustang is supposed to sound like! No drone, but plenty of deep throaty rumble. I got mine from American Muscle and they suggest that you purchase a hanger kit with them. I do not know about 2005-2008, but with a 2009 save your $59.99. You do not need them, as the stock hangers work perfectly. No fitment problems either. The 4" outlets fill up the exhaust cut outs on the rear valance panel perfectly. I odered the polished ones wondering if you could really see that much of them installed. The anwer to that question is YES. And it looks great!

Thats cool that you like your new Pypes! I was looking at them myself. I noticed that the polished Violators were a different grade (better) of stainless too.Glad to hear you have no regrets!

The 409 S/S mufflers have a little more carbon added to them (easier to work). They will rust slightly on the exterior but not all the way through. 409 is slightly magnetic. 304 will not surface oxidize.

I ordered mine yesterday. I have a set of stockers on a S/C gt. I like the quietness, good sleeper. I plan on keeping the stockers to run quiet every now and then.

rm9792, once you get them on and hear them, you are not going to want to take them back off!!! Makes it sound like it should. You will hear a little bit of a drone going through the gears, but you will be smiling while you do it!!!

Will they mess with the tune? I am hoping they will let the SC breathe a little easier. Rest of exhaust is stock.

Axlebacks have no effect on a tune. I have in the past run my o/r h with no axlebacks.

Stock GT mufflers breath fairly good, so changing your mufflers out will not affect your tune. I personally get a kick out of adds saying you will get 10 more HP by adding such and such mufflers. In the end all it does is change the sound. Same thing with a CAI. They claim you get better mpg with one. How? On most vehicles yoor PCM will have to add more fuel to offset more air. If you get a tune, which most of us have, you are still adding more fuel. Now you do get better throttle response and a little more HP. I have an interesting story about programmers and CAI, but that was on a truck and I guess it really does not belong in this forum at all.

just got my violators in today hope fully tommorow i can get them put on. i got high flow cats and a x pipe as well will that combo mess with my cpm at all?

Do you have a programmer and a CAI? If not I am going to go out on a limb and say no, because you are not pulling in more air and the CPM in not trying to adjust for it.
