To upgrade a shifter worth it?
Hi guys
This car is primarily for the track but will still be streeted on weekends not at the track. Its a 2005 mustang GT manual.
I am considering upgrading the shifter because ill be pulling out the driveshaft anyways and don’t want to do it twice down the road.
The question is will the upgraded shifter make any real difference worth the $300+ dollars and which is preferred?
I am aware of about 5 companies that make them but would rather hear which one you guys feel is the best.
All input helps
Thanks
Kris

I love my Hurst Billit short throw shifter, Change the feel of the cars shifting, Has a very short throw. Easy install without dropping the drive shaft. about $210 shipped from Summit. Came with a white ball, Shifter ****. Draw back is a little more road noise, But I would recomend it to anyone!

Get the MGW and be done with it. I love mine and I've never heard any complaints from anyone else. You can adjust the shortness of the throw to your liking and you will NEVER miss a gear. I was a little uneasy about spending $300 on a shifter when there are less expensive ones out there, but I bought it and I have no regrets.

Do it and do it quick.
Life is short and the OEM long throw is just not for you.
Its worth the $300 unlike a $300 Throttle Body.
Steeda TriAx notchy.
Hurst makes a mean billit aluminum one...
MGW FTW.

I love my Hurst Comp/Plus. I think it's got the best looks of any of them, plus the heritage... and it works great for me. The new Billet/Plus can be had at some places for a very slight premium over the original Comp/Plus, and I might (if I had to do it again) be tempted to go with it. In any case, whatever you choose will be better than stock if you want to shorten up the throws. And actually being able to get to the climate controls with the shifter in 1/3/5 is completely worth the cost of any of them.
