My Comp stage 2 SPR blower grind cams install with pictures

well spring swap on passenger side complete, no keys lost. At $7.50 each, that made me happy. I'm in the process of rebuilding the phaser with the limiters, I'll snap pics while I do this. While I'm at it I'll snap some of my tool I had to fix, and I'll get some of my ganglion cyst I created when I was trying to force the tool down before I modified it yesterday.

All right, so done on the driver side, got some pics to share here.
First, some pics durring the spring swap. This is the valve stem with the groves the keys lock into. They dont really lock though, the set in gingerly until you let the pressure off the retainer. I used some of the cam lube as its slightly sticky and helped hold the key in the slots:
you can see the paper towel there too. Very important to create a catch directly next to the area your working, thats how I didnt loose any more keys.
Here is what it looks like with a key in:
Here is my mushed tool from comp.... the pic is crappy but the arrow is pointing to the mushed claw:
Heres the fix, all it cost was an hour with a jewlers file:
this allowed me to lock the phaser spring. Note, the actual locking was done on the car, this was taken to make it easier to see:
And heres the prep with the back off the phaser. Notice the longer screw. That screw goes into the whole that feeds in behind where the spring is currently locked. The long unthreaded portion is what holds the spring tension on the phaser. Also, make sure you dont mess up the spring in the phaser with the three point top on it. Also pictured:
More to come later!

yeah, I have done it before. Same spot last year, didnt even have a hint of comming back, but I'm sure the pressure I put on it was what made it pop out again. Should be good. It hurts a little when she hit it, but I get so annoyed with the lump.
As for the car, Tuesday I should have it running. Need to order the one key I lost.
